Dr. Meseret Chekol Reta, President

Currently teaches journalism at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
Taught at Ashland University in Ohio and University of Michigan-Flint from 2000 to 2005;
In the 1980s, he served as a broadcaster at Voice of Ethiopia External Service.

Tsehai Mezgebu Abate, Vice-president and head of Public relations/fundraising

Currently works as a real estate agent and insurance consultant in California;
A graduate of Mesa College in San Diego where she studied public relations;
In the 1980s served as a broadcaster at Ethiopian Television for three years.

Alemayehu Gebrehiwot, Secretary

Currently resides in Virginia and regularly participates in Ethiopian events pertaining to arts and culture;
After graduating from Addis Ababa University in theater arts , he served for six years at the Ministry of Culture;
Between 1993 and 2000, he served in Bahar Dar, first as a department head within the regional bureau of culture and sports, and later as director of the regional bureau of culture, tourism, and information.
Alemayehu has written and translated a number of plays that were broadcast on national radio and television in Ethiopia;
His recent publication is a book of poetry.

Hiywot Kifle, Treasurer

Currently works as security operations assistant at ABSS in the Washington D.C. area;
Holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of District of Columbia (UDC) which he attended upon emigrating to the United States in 1986;
Has served as a member of the committee organizing the Ethiopian Millennium event that was held in September 2007 in Washington D.C.; has particularly handled the accounting aspect.
